How to find the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Waterfront, Poolside, King Bd, Ground-Floor, & WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
