Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Havelock vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, shift your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect rental in Emerald Isle:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. OCEANFRONT- End Summer\/Fall Discounts--Pet Friendly w\/ Mother in Law Quarters has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
