Rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pool - Ocean Front - Dogs OK! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
