Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Pool - Ocean Front - Dogs OK! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
