Tips to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking your Havelock rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom 2 Bath Duplex in Emerald Isle. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's a particular Havelock destination you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
