Strategies to get the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the best rental home in the Havelock area:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Toes in the Grass-Oceanfront, Beautifully Remodeled, 1st Floor Unit, Pool! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
