Tips for getting the best rental home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Book your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanside Luxury and Convenience on the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
