Our top Havelock rental property booking tips and tricks:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your prefectrental:
- First and foremost, have your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Sound Of The Sea North 212, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
