- Private vacation home
After not renting for 2 years while repairing broad water damage, we're excited to be back to help with your vacation plans! Over the next few days we'll be updating our description and posting new photos, so check back regularly!
Welcome to your vacation beach hideaway in the private Spinnaker’s Reach neighborhood! The neighborhood includes a community pool (across from the beach access), as well as community access to Bogue Sound in neighboring Spinnaker’s Landing.
Our home is a third row oceanside duplex with a roomy reverse floor plan that sleeps 11 in 5 bedrooms. The second-floor master suite includes a king bed, private deck access, and a soaking tub with separate shower in the bathroom. Two additional second floor bedrooms include queen beds and share a hall bath. The third-floor guest room on this level also offers a queen bed and a wardrobe in lieu of a closet. On the first floor, you’ll find a game and bunk room that includes a full-twin bunk.
The cavernous third floor is an open floor plan, including the family room, a brightly lit and well-outfitted kitchen that includes a granite countertop and a dishwasher (of course…who wants to wash dishes on vacation?), plus access to the top-level deck.
We provide linen service with your stay, including completely made beds; two bath towels per person, plus hand towels and wash cloths; bathmats for all bathrooms; and two kitchen towels.
Our amenities include Wi-Fi connectivity, a gas grille, dumbwaiter, full-size hot tub, hot/cold outdoor shower, full-size washer/dryer, iron and ironing board, as well Roku or Intelligent TVs in 3 bedrooms. The family room includes a enormous Intelligent TV and a DVR player, along with an assortment of games and puzzles for rainy days. We also provide a golf cart for your convenience. Please follow posted rules for golf cart use; golf carts are only for neighborhood use, they aren’t allowed on Coast Guard Road.
We welcome your dogs, up to 2 allowed with a $150 non-returnable fee per pet. Emerald Isle accepts dogs on the beach, though they must be on a leash (owner, too!). You’ll find pickup bags at the beach access so you can clean up after your pet and keep our beach clean.
Please note that this is a non-smoking property.
We’ve owned and rented this home since 2013. If you’re familiar with our home, as we update our description and add new photos, you’ll notice numerous improvements for this season. Already complete: we have new decks (Trex), we refreshed the 3rd floor bedroom with an adjustable bed and room darkening curtains, refreshed the primary-master bathroom, replaced TVs in the master-primary bedroom and first floor bedroom, re-upholstered our overstuffed “Monkey Chair” and couch cushions, replaced numerous pillows (every bed has shams as well as cased pillows), and in the kitchen updated our coffee pot (replaced separate Keurig and Mr. Coffee with a single unit that does both) while continuing to refresh pots and pans. And finally, we plan to convert from physical keys to electronic locks by mid-May. We’ll post new photos as we progress.
Disclosure. Not installed yet, but planned by mid-May: we plan to add one exterior security camera and an exterior noise monitoring device; both will be placed in the carport. The camera will face the street, so the coverage area will be the driveway and part of the yard adjacent to the driveway. The noise monitoring device will *not* record conversations; it will only identify excess noise levels to help us resolve potential noise complaints from neighbors. We will NOT place cameras or other surveillance devices on the interior of our home, and we will NOT place any at the back of the home (specifically on the patio with vistas of the hot tub and the outdoor shower). We will protect your privacy.
- Once we install these, we will update with a photo showing the placement of these devices.

Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation rental in Emerald Isle:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Pet Friendly 3rd Row Duplex in Spinnaker's Reach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
