How to get the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Pine Knoll Shores:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coral Shores #22, Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
