How to book the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Coral Shores #22, Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
