Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. RARE \"DOUBLE UNIT\" BEAUTIFUL Deluxe Studio Condo just steps to the ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
