Strategies to get the very best Havelock vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:
- First, have your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Blue Heron East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
