How to find the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:
- First, have your family select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Sea Salt - Classic Atlantic Beach home - perfect vacation location! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
