Booking the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beautifully updated oceanfront condo with a pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
