Tips to get the very best Havelock rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sea's the Day-Oceanfront Home, Private Pool! has 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Havelock destination you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
