Tricks and tips to get the very best Havelock vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Summer Winds A-104, Oceanfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
