Finding the best rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Sound Front Home-Sunset Bay Retreat in Harkers Island has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
