Strategies to get the optimal Havelock vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect vacation home in the Havelock area:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Sward Shack - Beautiful waterview has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
