Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Reserve your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Third-Floor Condo in Direct Oceanfront Building w\/Shared Pool, WiFi, & Balcony has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
