Finding the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2BR oceanside duplex, steps from beach, dog friendly at no add't fee has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
