Tips and Tricks to get the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. A Shore Gem-Oceanfront! Pool right out the front door! (2 week bookings only) has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
