Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.

- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
