How to book the best Beaufort vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Havelock rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

More considerations:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
