Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Walk to beaches from 2nd floor 2 bed 2 bath apt has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
