Booking the best Beaufort vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Beaufort:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Upscale Bungalow - 129 Craven Street\n300 feet from Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
