Strategies to get the perfect Beaufort vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Best deal in Beaufort, pet-friendly, with extra perks! Ideal for Travel Nurses! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
