SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD: Guest suite is located in the of a safe, private, neighborhood.

PRIVATE CUL-DE-SAC LOT: Suite is on first floor of a single-family home located on a wooded, cul-de-sac lot which limits the view to neighboring homes. The home is adjacent to a park, so it is not uncommon see a variety of birds, deer, and other wildlife.

WALK OR BIKE TO EVERYWHERE: Emerald Isle has broad walking and bicycle paths, so you can get just about anywhere on the island without a car if you savor traveling on foot or bicycle.

HALF-MILE FROM BEACH: Located 1/2 mile from the beach (3 min. bicycle ride, 7 min. power walk, 15 mins. for turtles).

HALF-MILE FROM PARK: There is a nature park within a half-mile walk of our home. They have walking paths to the sound, a kayak launch, modest pier for fishing, frisbee golf, bathroom facilities when available.

RESTAURANTS / SHOPS: There are also multiple eateries and stores within a 1/2 mile and many more within a mile. You can use the bicycles to ride to the local beach and to many other places on the island. There is a beach, a park, eateries and stores within about a half-mile of our home. Nearly everything on the island is within 3 miles of our home. We have two beach cruiser bicycles which you may use at your own risk with a signed waiver (be especially careful during the busy summer). There is car parking available for the public beaches (sometimes there is a parking fee on weekends during the summer). Uber is also available on the island.

Emerald Isle is home to this apartment. Emerald Forest Golf and Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Salty Pirate Water Park and Emerald Isle Adventures. The Sweet Spot and MacDaddy's Entertainment Center are also worth visiting.

Finding the best value:

• Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
• In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
• Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
• Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
• Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
• Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
• Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
• Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
• After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
