Tips and Tricks for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To book the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the right Havelock vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Chateau Relaxo Duex- Remodeled Pool View Condo with Direct Beach & Sound Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
