Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the best rental home in Atlantic Beach:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Soundfront Complex, pool, steps from beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a great stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
