Strategies for getting the perfect Havelock rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. To find the best rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefect Havelock rental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 4BR Ocean Front Duplex - off Coast Guard Rd! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Havelock beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
