How to book the best rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Narrow your Search:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Tortuga Oceanside Villa with Beautiful Beach and Sunset Views in Emerald Isle has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
