How to find the best Havelock rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Dancing Barefoot- Cozy Beach Getaway- 4th Row House with Ocean View has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
