How to book the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To find the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Emerald Isle Brand New Luxury Condo! Steps to Beach, Direct Beach Access! Pool! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
