Atlantic Beach vacation rental booking tips:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing and booking your Havelock rental:

  • First, have your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Family Beach Vacation\n has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Havelock beach you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
