We hope you will find our home to be comfortable & calming – “just like home”. We have put many things into this home to make it very enchanting & a place you want to come back to every year. Just a short walk to the beach access (1 block) will get your toes in the sand in no time! After a long day on the beach, take a walk down to the point to see the most fantastic sunsets.
The open floor plan gives you plenty of room for entertaining and spending all your waking hours with family and friends, additional pub table for playing games or working a puzzle and a sizable kitchen for cooking. Our bedrooms have names to make it a fun place to remember where everybody sleeps – LOL! Ocean Break is the king master with double sinks & a walk-in tiled shower. Flo’s room (name derived after a Flamingo) has a queen bed, master bath attached, double sinks & a tub/shower inset. Want a calming peaceful ambiance? Go to The Palm room for that serine feeling. Sheer white drapes adorn this queen bedroom giving you the feel of being in the islands with the wind blowing. Our Tiki Room is the most colorful and ideal for kids. Tricks and tips to get the very best Havelock vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Flamingo Point - Relax as if you were in your own Home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
