Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:
- Start by having your family choose trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Flamingo Point - Relax as if you were in your own Home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
