Our top Rental property booking tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. New Beaufort home at Beau Coast Retreat for ultimate comfort and fun! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
