Our top Pine Knoll Shores rental home tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Reserve your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking your Havelock rental home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Townhouse, The NEW G-5 completely remodeled Spring 2019! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
