Strategies to get the optimal Havelock vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.

- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
