Strategies for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Havelock vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront Condo-Sleeps 4-Newly Renovated has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a specific Havelock attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
