Tips for getting the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Finding the best value:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book yourrental home:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean View Condo with Community Pool (Southwinds H11) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
