How to find the best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental:
- To start, have your family commit to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ohana- Oceanview, Pet Friendly Home in Atlantic Beach, NC has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
