Rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental home in Atlantic Beach:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Seaside Villas Unit 56 in Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
