Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Havelock vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Seaside Villas Unit 56 in Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
