Getting the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the best vacation home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Seaside Villas 56- Pet Friendly Townhome has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
