Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the best rental home in the Havelock area:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Stunning Ocean Front Views-Pet Friendly-Clean, Sound System indoors and out! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
