Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Havelock vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in Beaufort. To get the largest rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the perfect Havelock rental:
- First, have your family select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Temple Cottage - Walking distance to downtown has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
