Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your Havelock rental:
- Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Coastal Escape, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
