Testimonials:
December 13, 2023 - 5 Stars - Katy Dunne
This home has plenty of room with separate living quarters plus really painless beach access right across the street. It's on a peaceful street, feels very private, and has a great view from the enormous deck. I adore this part of the island - it's very green and secluded, but also super close to Atlantic Beach and Beaufort if you want to do some shopping or find a great spot to eat. The aquarium is right close by, too! I will definitely be back to the Griffin House again!
December 13, 2023 - 5 Stars - Melissa Mason
The home had everything we needed for our group and so close to the water! I appreciated the view from the upstairs living space, flooded with sunshine and ocean vibes even when you are inside. The deck is the ideal sunset spot to sit with a glass of wine and soak it all in. It's hard to believe this marvelous space exists, a peaceful little neighborhood located in the dunes with impressive empty beaches. A far cry from the busy beaches to the north and south. It was so easy for us to walk to the water with our little ones and all our beach gear. Will absolutely stay here again!

Finding the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking the perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. The Griffin House, Almost Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
