Finding the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Tip'Sea Turtle, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
