Beaufort is a striking little historic NC town founded in 1709 which makes it the 3rd oldest in the state. Originally a Port of Entry and fishing village, Beaufort has a rich maritime history. The historic waterfront district along Taylor’s Creek offers visitors the opportunity to dine and shop while appreciating vistas of feral horses on Carrot Island and boats from all over the world at the Beaufort Docks. Water ferries transport visitors to close by Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks. There are historic and ghost tours available daily that provide a rich history of the area, and one of Blackbeard’s legendary homes is just around the corner from our vacation home! Tour the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and walk or bicycle the tree lined streets of the historic neighborhoods. There are phenomenal eateries by the waterfront to savor including annual events like the Food and Wine Weekend with winemakers and top chefs from around the world and the music festival. Whatever you decide to do, I am sure that you will find Beaufort as delightfully different as we do – and it's only 3 hours from Raleigh!
The home sleeps 12 and was constructed only a few years ago so has the amenities of a new home. We include bicycles, a canoe, and other extras with the rental.

Tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To get the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing yourvacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Unique, Great for Families, Walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is best for your group.
- If there's a particular Havelock destination you long to visit, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
