Booking the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Wide, Sandy Beaches Await You! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
