Tricks and tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- To find the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- To start, have your family agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Wide, Sandy Beaches Await You! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
