Getting the best vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Havelock rental:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 2-story dog & snowbird-friendly home with sound views, balconies, deck, & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
