Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation rental:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Amenities GALORE! Private pool, hot tub, elevator and MORE! has 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
