How to book the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Aurora East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
